KwikFit ‘computers outage’ leaves millions of Brits unable to book appointments
KWIKFIT'S computer system crashed this morning, leaving millions of Brits unable to book appointments.
The outage is believed to have affected most if not all of the brand's network of over 600 stores across the UK.
A local KwikFit branch contacted by SunMotors confirmed the outage, saying it was a "national problem".
The problem was apparently caused by a "postcode update" within the system, with some workers reporting that their terminals were simply not working.
This apparently left customers unable to pencil in new appointments, while staff cannot manage existing bookings.
They added that head office was "working on" getting the issue fixed but had not yet updated individual branches on its progress.

They offer rapid tyre fitting as well as general servicing, maintenance and MoT tests.
Outlets also offer a wide range of motoring products, including replacement batteries and an extensive range of tyres.
Kwik Fit head office confirmed a few hours later that the issue had been resolved.

A spokesperson said: "All our systems are running normally.
"One of our systems received a postcode update early this morning and it appears this caused a problem with our primary in-centre booking process.
"It did not affect other operations across the business and many centres were able to switch to a backup system.
"We have been quickly able to bring the affected system back on line and all our operations are running as usual."
