AS WINTER approaches and wet weather continues to hit the UK, it's important to check that your windscreen wipers are working properly.
Over the last few days, torrential downpours have seen cars submerged and even railway lines flooded.
And this week, Brits were warned to brace themselves for a month's worth of rain in just two days.
Amid all this wet weather, your windscreen wipers are likely being put under unusual strain - but luckily there's a simple trick to find out if they're broken.
A TikTok user, @MyMotorWorld, shared the trick with his 3,000 followers.
He said: "If you're out and it's raining or you're doing a wash, wipe and see a line coming across your windscreen, the blade could be damaged."

Damaged wipers may mean your view of the road is obstructed - causing a danger to you and other motorists.
It could also land you with a whopping £1,000 fine - which goes up to £2,500 if you're driving a lorry or bus.
But, fortunately, the TikToker also had a simple hack for replacing your wipers at short notice.
He said: "Now you won't believe how simple these are to change."

"All you need to do is type your registration number at and get the correct blade for your car.
The correct blade can then be purchased online for as little as £2.
The user continued: "Inside you're going to have all these fitments, so it will definitely fit."
"Now take the blade out of the box, lift the arm off. The old blade slides out, slide the new blade in.
"It's really simple, takes seconds to do. Once a new blade is in, just remove the carrier and that's it."
