The luxurious saloon is well-remembered for its classy looks and charm - but certain models can even match the limited top speed of the BMW M3.

The gorgeous Jaguar S-Type, which was first built in 1999 and ran all the way until 2007 before it was discontinued, can make for a great used car buy thanks to its executive styling and serious performance.

With its throwback design, the S-Type was lauded upon its release for its interior and ride, while the high performance 'R' version was the ultimate super saloon.

Nowadays, petrolheads can find the 4.2 V8 engined iteration for a snip, and it comes with the sort of performance that's equal to the mythical BMW M3.

In fact, according to Parkers, it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.3 seconds and boasts a limited top speed of 155 mph.
