A SUPERFAN is selling off their beloved Oasis themed number plates for a huge sum, having turned down an offer of £4,000 years ago.

The fan has seen Oasis live four times, including the band's final performance at V Fest in 2009.

Now, he is looking to sell of the important piece of memorabilia, with the hopes he can see them live again in 2025.

Available on eBay, the plates were originally from a 1953 motorcycle, long predating the births of the Gallagher brothers.

The owner, who did not want to be named, said: "I bought them off a gentleman who owned a motorcycle, that was the original registration of it.

"And then he removed the registration and sold it on to me and then sold the bike separately."

He added: "It's now on my partner's car."

A few years ago, he was offered £4,000 for the registration, but declined.

But he does not look back in anger at this decision, hoping instead a lucky buyer will take the number plate on in honour of the reunion tour.

Jake Smith, the firm's director, told The Sun that the market for these registration numbers is "fairly wide" - although the buyer needs "very deep pockets."

He added: "Whilst we have NDAs signed with buyers of these registrations around the cost etc., they are predominantly high net worth individuals or businesses."

Jake said the reason why people are willing to fork out huge wads of cash to add a personal touch to their vehicle is because they are "becoming harder to obtain."

He said: "Registrations such as 5 F would demand a higher cost as it could target individuals with initials SF whilst a registration such as 5 X would be less desirable as there are fewer individuals with SX as an initial."
