THIS is the shocking moment a car is hit from behind at 50mph after pulling out to avoid a bin lorry.
The clip fiercely divided social media, revealing a common misconception among Brit drivers.

The viral video, posted to TikTok, is shot from the dashcam of a van travelling in the right-hand lane of a busy main road.
The speedometer reveals that the driver is clipping along at 50mph.
Up ahead, a bin lorry has stopped in the left-hand lane while workers collect the rubbish from a property on the roadside.
A white car slows down as it approaches before indicating and pulling out.

However, the driver in the hatchback appears not to have spotted the van hurtling along in their mirrors.
As a result, the van smacks hard into the rear right-hand door of the white car and is sent spinning off across the grass verge dividing either side of the road.
The driver lets out a yell before swerving across the thankfully empty opposite carriageway and into a ditch, leaving the van turned on its side.
Commenters were undecided on who was at fault for the crash.

Some claimed that the driver of the white car had been careless in pulling out, but others suggested that the van had been as much as 20mph over the speed limit.
One wrote: "Cam car needs to learn how to use a steering wheel."

Another countered: "Car was indicating to pull out and the camera car had time to slow down, however, the white car should have waited."
However, motoring content creator Jobber, who posted the video, set the record straight.
He explained that the grass verge acting as a "permanent divide" separating the lanes and the lack of street lighting indicated that the road was a dual carriageway.
As such, the van was actually driving around 20mph under the national 70mph speed limit.
And even though it went into the back of the white car, it was actually the latter that was responsible for pulling out carelessly.
The other driver was also prosecuted
Jobber explained: "It looks like the other driver had approached [the bin lorry] at speed, not realising it was stationary, and so swerved into lane two while also braking.
";He did that into the path of the established and correctly proceeding camera vehicle.
"So not your standard hit in the rear collision.
"Upon receiving the footage...liability was admitted by the other car's insurance company.

"The other driver was also prosecuted for the collision."
It comes after one motorist claimed she was charged £11,000 over 67 parking fines despite paying for a permit each time.
