Britain’s top motor for romps revealed – has your car made the list?
BRITAIN’S top passion-wagon has been revealed — as the ancient Austin Allegro.
A survey found almost a third of people had romped in a car.
And 13 per cent of those did the deed in the popular British family saloon from the 1970 and early ’80s.
The next most popular was the Vauxhall Viva, used by 12 per cent, according to the survey of 2,000 people over the age of 18. And 11 per cent had sex in a Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Astra.
The dumpy-looking Allegro has been called one of the worst motors ever made, but it had a celebrity following.
Owners included WWII fighter ace Sir Douglas Bader and Princess Margaret’s ex, Lord Snowdon.

Grand Tour presenter Richard Hammond’s dad once owned an estate model, to the embarrassment of the ex-Top Gear star.
Tim Agnew of betting site freebets.com, which did the survey, said: “Our research shows a lot of very old cars hold some very fond memories for many people.
“Who would have thought the humble Austin Allegro was one of the hottest cars on the road once upon a time?”
