A MODERN classic sports car that Richard Hammond described as "sexy" can be picked up for as little as £5,000 today.
The 133mph motor is "actually as fast as it looks" and rivals some legends of its class, according to the ex-Top Gear star.
Writing a review in , the Grand Tour host shared his love for the Peugeot RCZ.
He was particularly enamoured with the 147mph, 200-horsepower version that the brand released in 2010.
Hammond wrote: "This more powerful version is as different from the standard car as would be an RCZ fitted with a one-cylinder diesel engine from a dumper truck that you started with a handle.
"This car looks just as sexy as the less powerful RCZ and is indeed considerably faster.

"But there's more to it than that because Peugeot has done a lot of fiddling under the RCZ's sexy body that you can't actually see.
"It's in a different league, in fact."
The tweaks included larger brakes, stronger wheel hubs borrowed from a 407 and a smaller steering wheel, all aiding a "sportier feel" about the car.
The model is also relatively rare, with only 67,916 sold over an eight-year production run between 2009 and 2017.

That's actually quite a small batch for a major manufacturer like Peugeot.
The star added: "Now the RCZ actually goes as fast as it looks.
"I'd love the Peugeot RCZ even if it was fitted with a dumper truck engine because it looks so fantastic."
He even went as far as to place it as a rival to the Audi TT, one of the most beloved and legendary sports cars ever made.
Despite an initial price of just under £32,000, equivalent to around £42,000 today, you can pick up a second-hand RCZ for under £5,000 today.
One listing on offers a 2012, 200bhp example with only 70,782 miles on the clock for £4,995.
It features all the mod cons of its time, including an immobiliser, Bluetooth connectivity, tinted windows and parking assist.
Plus, it claims to be able to eek out 40mpg in terms of fuel economy, making it as cheap to drive as it is fun.
It comes after an ultra-luxury car dubbed "truly enormous" by Jeremy Clarkson went on sale at a heavily reduced £14,000.
