VERY few cars genuinely turn heads these days.
But when you’re driving a Toyota Supra, you can’t help but feel like the cool kid on the playground who everyone looks up to.
It’s not just that this latest version of the Supra is a handsome car, a more ripped Calvin Klein model than the dull amateur boxers that went before it.

Chunky beast
It was honed by Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division – hence the GR.
Toyota says this muscular machine – which borrows a number of bits from the BMW Z4 – is “conceived as a sports car in its purest form, with no compromise”.

And that feels true from the second you get in it – or try to. It has that comforting discomfort of feeling just a bit too small on the inside. But, boy, it packs a punch.
You could sit happily behind the wheel all day – or until you drain the tank.
The 3-litre six-cylinder turbo engine is a whopping 340hp with 500Nm of torque and sprints to 62mph in just 4.3 seconds.
It’s a chunky beast but agile and smooth enough to give you that confidence you need when you’re belting around in a two-seat sports car.
You could sit happily behind the wheel all day – or until you drain the tank.
And when you fill it up at the petrol station, allow an extra 20 minutes for the inevitable enquiries.
