A USED car dealership has been given 90 days to shut down and move out after complaints from neighbours saw it dubbed "illegal" by the local council.

Residents slammed the business for causing severe "noise and disturbance" before it was ordered to close.

Dulux Cars, based in Romford, East London, was accused of causing "material harm" to the wellbeing of nearby residents.

Bosses reportedly deny breaking any laws but Havering London Borough Council issued an order on April 5 demanding that the business vacate its current site.

The company has been given three months to move its stock out of the showroom and leave.

An application for the shop was reportedly rejected last month, according to .

The council notice claims that Dulux is causing congestion in the surrounding area, as well as "noise and disturbance" that has resulted in "material harm" to its neighbours.

Failure to comply with the order within the allotted period could see the owners of the dealership prosecuted, it added.

Havering London Borough Council and Dulux Cars have been contacted for comment.
