I took a £200 Skoda on a 1,000-mile road trip to see if it would make it all the way

The cheap Skoda was held together by duct tape and could hardly even get started

A BRAVE motorist took a battered £200 Skoda on a 1,000-mile adventure across the UK just to see if it make the mammoth journey.

The dismal car was held together by duct tape, hardly managed to even get started and even had a wobbly steering wheel and loose gear stick.

But nonetheless it still managed to make the long journey to the most northern point in Wales in one piece.

The entertaining video was shared to the YouTube channel Epic Car Show and quickly went viral gaining tens of thousands of views.

The man in the driving seat was Matt who named his four wheel beauty Felicia after his late friend.

Matt and his pals involved in the road trip even added on some improvements to the motor with electrical tape go faster stripes on the front bonnet.

The cheap motor made the first stop of the 1,000-mile journey in Snowdonia to take in the breathtaking views.

Then after his second stop Matt decided to call it a night for the driving.

But keen to get every single penny out of the £200 he spent on the car, he made the decision to sleep in the Skoda overnight.

Spacious enough to fit in a man and his sleeping bag, the car proved to be a decent enough hotel for Matt even with the tin foil lined windows.

The Skoda then decided to put the car to the tests in the morning.

Battling through tricky flood waters and sandy beaches, the car came out still in a great state despite the dirt it had picked up.

Matt celebrated making the long journey in one piece saying: "We've made it in the rubbish car. We're actually here."

"Looking at this car do you think it would ever be able to do this?

"I genuinely didn't when we started this journey. I was absolutely terrified we weren't going to make this."

Hundreds took to the comments of the epic road trip video to praise the impressive Skoda.

One said: "Felicity's a trooper, proper little tank that."

As another said: "That Skoda proves appearances can be deceptive and what looks a scrap heap can actually be a dependable runabout."

Before a third chimed in: “This car was a true gem and step forward in motoring back in the day.

“It was a car designed for non highway speeds, comfort and robustness.

“As long as it was looked after, it drove pretty well for its price.”

It comes as Wheeler Dealer hosts Mike Brewer and 'Elvis' Priestley managed to transform a battered "super rare" car into a "state-of-the-art" motor.

The 30-year-old rusty Mark 1 Astra GTE was one of just eight on the road in the UK since it launched in the 1980s and was bought for just £7,000.

Mike Brewer also turned a battered student's car into a "dream motor" for just £200.
