DRIVERS are just realising the hidden meaning behind the shark on all new vehicles produces by a major British car brand.
The animal that everyone knows Vauxhall for is the griffin in its logo, but the car manufacturer also hides an Easter Egg on its motors.
According to , the 2004 Corsa kicked off a tradition that every new Vauxhall and Opel would come with a shark motif hidden somewhere in the interior.
The suggestion was made the by the son of the Corsa's designer.
According to the : "One Sunday in 2004, Opel designer Dietmar Finger was at home drawing a design for the new Corsa.
"More precisely, the unspectacular outer wall of the glove box, which is covered most of the time by the closed passenger door.

"When the box is opened, this wall must provide stability, which is achieved with transverse ribs in the plastic surface.
"The designer now had to design these ribs.
"As he was in the middle of his design, his son walked by, took a look at the sketch and asked: 'Dad, why don't you draw a shark?'
"Why not? Finger thought to himself and gave the ribs the shape of a shark. An idea and a new tradition was born."

The sharks are hidden throughout the car and change for each model.
One woman took to Facebook to share her amazement after spotting a mystery shark design inside her car.
After sharing a snap of the surprise find, people were quick to inform her they also have the ocean predator in their cars.
She wrote: “So I picked up a new car today - a Vauxhall Mokka.
“I noticed a picture of a shark by the cup holder!
"I thought it was random so I Googled it - apparently every Vauxhall made since 2004 has a hidden shark.
“Some are in the glove compartment, some are by the bonnet.
“Am I late to the party!? Because I NEVER knew this!
“If you have a Vauxhall you have to check it!”

The website says: “If you're the proud owner of a Vauxhall Corsa made in 2006-14 or you happen to buy a used Vauxhall Corsa from those years, check the glove compartment and you should find a line drawing of a shark embossed on to the hinge.
“According to legend, there is no real reason for the shark, other than a bet between two of the designers who worked on the car - again making it a true Easter egg and even more surprising that it lasted for an impressive eight years in production.
