Scotty explained that a seemingly minor issue can lead to performance issues with your car.

These can include rough and bumpy ride as well as reduced fuel economy.

The motoring whizz explained: "If your car is shaking or riding bumpy check the tyre pressure.

"It's simple - what you want is for them to be equal or very close to equal

"If any pressure are lower than any others it's not going to ride right.

"Tyres do a lot of the shock absorbing.

"If one is really soft, it's going to bounce more than the other one."

Thankfully it's really easy to check your tyre pressure and make sure everything's even.

All you need is a handheld pressure gauge, which can be found on Amazon for as little as £8.

Just lock the gauge onto the air nozzle on the tyre and it will give you an instant pressure reading.

Your tyres could be illegal without you even realising it... & you might run the risk of a £10k fine

And if one is a little lower than the rest, you can buy tyre pumps online or go to a local petrol station which offers free air.

Make sure to check your owner's manual to see what pressure your tyres require and if one keeps losing pressure quickly check for a puncture.

However, Scotty also revealed exactly when you should be making the essential check.

He added: "Do it first thing in the morning when it's cold.

"If you pressure test them after driving on the highway it's going to read a lot higher.

"That's because the heat [from driving] increases the pressure.

"Always check them cold."

It comes after a gallery owner was left outraged after he was slapped with a "disgraceful" parking fine when another car crashed into his shop.
