Residents left baffled as workers resurface major road for first time in 30 years… but work AROUND abandoned car
RESIDENTS have been left gobsmacked after noticing workers resurface a major road around an abandoned car.
The old motor is said to have been left for around two years in the south of England.
Workers confronted with the lone vehicle blocking the street in Weymouth, Dorset, decided to just resurface around the old orange Ford truck.
Residents say the motor has not been moved for at least two years and have slammed the lack of common sense.
One resident, who did not want to be named, tried contacting the police and council about the seemingly abandoned vehicle to see if it could be moved.
But they were told that because the whip is taxed and registered to a local person, there's nothing the authorities can do about it.

The car sticks out like a sore thumb now that the work has been done, and it seems little can be done about the local eye-saw.
It's not the only time it's happened, scenarios just like it have cropped up across the UK over the years.
Manchester-based motorists were left enraged after stubborn council workers resurfaced the road using the same technique.
They claimed the incompetent work at Bandram Road in Prestwich, Manchester, left part of the surface looking like a "mess full of gravel".
Notices were put up by Bury council letting locals know not to park on the road while the work was completed.
But the signs were removed on the same day as the gravel was placed on the road - causing a bit of a problem shortly after.
At the time, residents thought it was okay to return their motor to their usual space outside their houses.
But they were met with surprise when the workers returned to finish the last layer of road surfacing.
Elsewhere, more photos show how road maintenance workers were forced to tarmac around cars left on the street during roadworks.
Two drivers were left with their tails between their legs in Helston, after the work was done around their motors.
Cheeky workers decided to carry on around the obstructions, leaving the Peugeot 306 and Mini Cooper in place on the old surface as the new road surface was layed down.
The funny photos show the Peugeot parked right next to a huge yellow sign which clearly reads: "Surfacing works. No parking between 6pm and 6am."

However, their decision to ignore this led to embarrassment as the new black tarmac stops abruptly by the sign, only to continue about a yard beyond the car's front bumper.
Likewise, the Mini found itself perched on a slab of old road, noticeable as it's a far lighter colour than the rest of the street.
