‘STOLEN TO ORDER'

I tried to sell my prized BMW online only for it to vanish from my driveway without a trace

Nyle had a 'very interested' potential buyer but they never showed up

A MAN who advertised his BMW for sale online had it vanish from his driveway without a trace.

Nyle Ryatt posted details about his silver BMW 3 Series 335i E90 LCI, with the licence plate AJ10 FYH on Facebook Marketplace and had a potential buyer who was “very interested”.

The man had arranged to come to his home in Four Oaks, Sutton Coalfield, on March 9 but never showed up, according to Nyle.

He added the same man then phoned up to apologise and “pleaded” to see the car the following day.

When Nyle woke up on Sunday he messaged the man to check he was still coming.

But he later got a call from his brother, who had come round to celebrate Mother’s Day, called him from his driveway to say his prized motor had gone.

Police are currently investigating.

Nyle, 29, believes the car was stolen to order.

He also added the potential buyer also failed to turn up on Sunday despite not having been told the car had been stolen.

Nyle told : “I had the vehicle for sale on Facebook Marketplace and a potential buyer was very interested. He was supposed to come Saturday but was a no-show.

“He then phoned me, apologised that he had been called to work and pleaded with me to see it on Sunday. I reluctantly agreed.

“Sunday morning I was lying in bed. I texted the man to make sure he was coming. He replied ‘yes I'll see you in a few hours’.”

But when his brother turned up at his house he told Nyle his car had gone and there was glass on the driveway.

The car had been fitted with a crooklock but Nyle added that whoever took the car managed to break the lock and drive off.

The vehicle was not a keyless start car and Nyle said the keys were “in my house in my room” and didn’t know how it could have been stolen.

He said: “They may have used a laptop. They were smart and must have done their homework.

“The alarm did not go off considering they broke the window."

Nyle said he had been feeling paranoid and “on guard” since his car vanished and he no longer felt safe in his own home.

He said: “Please put the story out as it will make people aware. My car, unfortunately, was stolen to order.

“It is a sought-after car, quite rare too. It's probably been stripped or possible in another country by now.”

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “We’re investigating after a BMW 3 series was stolen from Bickley Avenue on March 9 to 10.
