THE LATEST in a new era of electrification is set to be unveiled in just a handful of days.
Audi has finally confirmed it will be revealing the brand-spanking new, all-electric Q6 E-tron on March 18.
Audi’s next-gen Q6 is based on the new “Premium Platform Electric”.
It’s the new system for electric cars being used by Audi and Porsche, and it's only the second model to be launched - after the Porsche Macan EV.
The new Q6 is thought to come in a range of powertrain options including a mid-range Q6 with 396 hp and a high-speed beast performing at 603 hp.
The battery capacity is expected to be 100 kWh - providing an average of 373 miles of range.

But it also has a fast charging option, allowing the battery to shoot from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 15 minutes.
Not much is known about the exact exterior of the Q6, although it is thought to be fairly similar to the likes of the and Q8 e-tron.
Prototypes from the last year show the car featuring a mighty pair of dual LED headlights on either side of its textured front grille.
The rear will be marked with a full-width light bar and a signature not dissimilar to the one on the e-tron GT.

However, Audi did reveal the interior of the car last year at the Munich motor show.
At the show, Audi said designers have turned their focus to the needs of drivers and passengers - which is ever evident in the design of the Q6.
At the time, head of design Marc Lichte said: "By understanding the interior as the centre of our customers’ lives and experiences, we are rejecting the status quo and systematically designing the vehicle from the inside out."
The all-electric car is set to feature a mega infotainment system - complete with an 11.9inch screen for the driver, a 14.5inch touchscreen in the middle, and a 10.9inch screen for the passenger.
The screen on the passenger side even comes with a "privacy mode" which allows for videos to be played without disturbing the driver.
Audi's Q6 also comes complete with an optional augmented reality display with driver assist functions.
Not to mention its latest voice assistant - which is ‘self-learning’, and can retain information from previous commands to develop itself.
Audi's new mid-size, electric SUV will be available in both regular and sportback coupe-SUV designs as of next year - it is thought.
It comes after Audi announced its A6 e-tron - a next-gen motor - can serve up 186 miles of tarmac with just 10 minutes of charging.

Although very little is known about the exact functionality of the Q6, we do know that the A6 is set to race from 0 to 62mph (100km/h) in under four seconds.
