We review the Citroen C4 from price to economy and all its features
CITROEN'S C4 has earned plenty of plaudits, but now it is gunning for more glory.
The Grand C4 Picasso snapped up the best MPV gong at the Scottish car of the Year awards and now the as part of the French firm's Parking Hero campaign.
The three stars get caught out big time when they meet Arsenal Ladies stars Alex Scott and Jordan Nobbs along with "new signing" Annalese Ferrai — who turns out to be a stunt driver in the hilarious ad.
But there are no jokes when it comes to the C4. It has been a massive sales success and continues to score highly for Citroen.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The C4 looks good on the drive. The styling is neat and tidy, with a sharp crease down the side. It is an established model with a solid reputation that stands up well against the likes of Ford's Focus, the Hyundai i30 or a VW Golf.
The VTR+ version means cruise control, air con and front electric windows as well as classy alloys, extra dashes of chrome and DAB radio.
HOW DOES IT DRIVE?
It's a full-on drive experience. There is a range of decent engines, but the £18,030 e-THP 130 we tested had plenty of power when we needed it and was comfortable on long and short journeys but the fun factor is slightly lacking on twisty roads where the steering is not as sharp as might like.
That said, it is an excellent motorway cruiser and is great around town. The 1.2-litre engine was good for 0-62mph in 10.8 seconds and a top speed of 124mph, while still delivering almost 59mpg.
INSIDE STORY
This is where the C4 scores. It is cost time for passengers and the driver. There is plenty of adjustment in the steering wheel and seats to get you the perfect position and even the dog has loads of room to stretch out.
The boot is big - 408 litres to cram in tons of shopping, especially at this time of year.
VERDICT: More of a comfort car that a dream drive but great family option.
