Ford Capri stored in garage for 33 YEARS gets new lease on life as it hits auction

It retains the original paint and bodywork - and was recently serviced and submitted for MOT testing

A FORD car that dates back to the '80s is set to get a new lease on life as it hits auction.

The 1986 Ford Capri - being sold in Essex - has been up and running for more than 33 years.

The car is in mint condition and will go up for bidding on 7 January. Other Capris have previously sold for as much as £40,000.

According to the seller, the car has had single ownership - and has hit some 119,500 miles throughout its life.

The owner's father acquired the car in 1990 and drove it every day for a number of years.

The Ford has always been inside a garage and looks as good as new - with just some usual wear and tear given the age of the motor.

Under the hood is a extremely desirable 2.8-litre fuel injected V6 engine which looks rather clean even after all these years.

Interior of the car look well-maintained as well - with just some scratches in the seats.

The Ford Capri comes bearing an impeccable Pioneer audio system.

Meanwhile, another extremely rare and "well maintained" Ford Capri Turbo that's just one of 200 ever made has hit auction.

The variant was produced in a limited run in the early '80s just a few years before manufacturing of the model shut down altogether.

This particular motor was sold new in Switzerland and remained there until it was sold to a Danish petrolhead.

It was one of the last Turbo versions of the iconic model to be produced, rolling off the factory line in 1982.

The single-turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 engine putting out a top speed of 137mph is what sets it apart from the standard Capri, which generally used an inline-four configuration.

The Capri was manufactured at Ford's plants in Halewood, Merseyside and Cologne, Germany, from 1968 until 1986, just four years after the last turbo was built.
