Ford Capri racing car with iconic livery & incredible history up for sale at eye-watering six-figure price
AN ICONIC Ford Capri racing car has hit the market for an eye-watering £175,000.
Automotive retailer Car & Classic listed the 1972 Ford Capri RS2600 - a racer which gained noteriety among car enthusiasts in the European Touring Car Championship.
According to the experts at , the RS2600 "has been built to the highest standards and has been used sparingly."
The classic motor was built with a new Weslake 2600 engine producing approximately 330 brake horsepower, and has been mated to a new ZF 5 speed gearbox.
Car & Classic said: "This car is ideal for the best Historic Touring Car racing in the UK and Europe including Masters 70s Celebration, Peter Auto Heritage Touring Cup, Motor Racing Legends Touring Cars, Iberian Touring Cars, HSCC and other national and international events such as Tour Britannia and Tour Auto."
The red and white racer is finished in the iconic Bastos livery from the 1970s, and comes with a spare set of wheels.

Described as "stunning," the renowned car has just 100 miles on the clock and has only completed two race events and a handful of test days since being built.
Car & Classic said: "Finished in the iconic Bastos livery which is synonymous with touring car racing this car is not only eye-catching but also extremely competitive in HTC or Motor Racing Legends Racing."
Legendary Scottish former Formula One racing driver Sir Jackie Stewart competed in a Ford Capri RS2600 in the European Touring Car Championship alongside F1 teammate François Cevert.
It comes after another "ultimate" Ford Capri with rare Turbo Technics conversion went up for auction.
