Clever Mrs Hinch cleaning hack will stop your car icing up – it costs next to nothing but works a treat in seconds

A cheap and easy Mrs Hinch cleaning hack that can stop your car from car icing up for next to nothing has been revealed.

Windscreen experts from Only One Auto Glass shared the trick as the weather turns frosty and winter rolls on.

All you need is a bottle of white vinegar and some water.

Simply mix them together, using a rough 2:1 ratio in favour of vinegar, and spray it over your windscreen and windows.

Only One's team explained: "The acidity in the vinegar will prevent ice from forming, so you won't even have to worry about de-icing your car the next morning."

Fortunately, you can pick up a 500ml bottle of white vinegar for just 29p at Tesco.

And that's not all it can do, with cleaning legend Mrs Hinch making use of the same solution to leave her windows sparkling at home.

However, the experts urged drivers not to leave it too late as they debunked the claim that vinegar can also be used to de-ice a car in the morning.

They added: "There is a myth out there that if you spray an iced windshield with a mixture of water and vinegar, the mixture will cause the ice to melt.

"While the mixture will not melt ice, it can help ice from forming in the first place if you spray your windshield with it the night before."

Not only that, but they warned that the vinegar/water mix should never be used on a windscreen with any chips and cracks in it as it can cause the damage to become worse.

Considering that fact that chip repairs can cost well over £100 and full replacement panes will set you back over £200, it's certainly best to be cautious on this one.

It comes after a TikToker shared a £3 pharmacy product which is key to the "best de-icing hack ever".

Meanwhile, drivers were left stunned as they discovered they had been using a little-known car button wrong for years.
