It’s ‘auto heaven’, fans cry as abandoned car graveyard with 4,000 motors discovered in woods
Some of the cars could yet fetch a handy price at auction after gaining popularity through an iconic film
A CAR nut has discovered an 'auto heaven' car graveyard boasting 4,000 abandoned motors tucked away in remote woodland.
Josh, a mechanic from Tennessee who specialises in restoring classic cars, took viewers on a video tour of the amazing site on his channel.

He explained that the owner of the plot had passed away and the vintage vehicles were being sold off or scrapped, so he went up there to buy what he could.
Josh said: "It's not often you get to walk through 4,000 cars hidden in the woods.
"I headed right over there straight after work...and started walking through.
"It's really incredible what's here...there's just a little bit of everything in this collection."

And that's no understatement, with everything from Japanese 4x4s to station wagons to bona fide American classics on the lot.
Josh managed to pick out cars from across the decades from the 1940s to the late '80s.
One particularly historic piece was a Ford N-series tractor, which were only produced between 1939 and 1952.
This icon of Americana is still worth around £4,000 today and the particular one Josh found is believed to have been one of the final generation that was first released in 1948.

Other top picks included a '70s era Plymouth Duster, a 1940's GMC 3/4 tonne truck and an old green-and-white bus that used to belong to a local baptist church.
Perhaps the crown jewel of the collection, though, was a pair of Pontiac Firebirds from the mid-'70s.
They were a far cry from the beloved example driven by Burt Reynolds in his 1977 film , with the one's Josh found covered in rust and faded paint.
Nonetheless, a Firebird in pristine condition can still sell for upwards of £60,000 based on listing on auction site .
commenters were devastated that the fabulous vehicles had been left to rot, with some destined for the crusher.
One wrote: "Josh you were in auto heaven with all that rusty gold you looked at,.
"Glad you saved one, and hope you get the others too."
Another added: "I have to admit that videos like these make my heart hurt a little bit, seeing so many cool cars and trucks that just wasted away."
And a third said: "If I didn't live overseas, I would be right there with you guys to pull 'em out with my old GMC truck, one at a time."

It comes after a Ford Capri that was locked away for decades by an owner who "hated it" finally went up for sale.
Meanwhile, urban explorers found an abandoned dealership with brand new cars wrapped still wrapped in foil.
