‘Incredibly helpful’ button is blowing drivers’ minds as they FINALLY figure out how it helps them park in tight spots
DRIVERS have only just discovered an "incredibly" helpful button in their vehicles that is the key to successfully parking in tight spots.
The "City" button's purpose has been blowing the minds of those who drive Vauxhall Corsas.
Located next to the touchscreen car stereo and navigation system is a small button that displays an image of three-quarters of a car steering wheel with the word "CITY" beneath it.
But for a long time, the button was ignored as people were unaware of the results of pushing it.
One driver took to to reveal the button's purpose after curiosity got the better of him.
"The 'City' button was designed in order to make the steering wheel incredibly lighter to make it easier for drivers to park in tight places whilst at a relatively moderate speed," he explained.

In the Corsa handbook, which can be found in the car wallet after purchasing the vehicle, Vauxhall has stated that: "City mode is a feature which enables increased steering assistance at lower speed conditions, for example, to assist with parking or city traffic".
The driver who revealed the handy purpose explained that as a student living in a highly congested area, he quickly became a regular user of the City button.
"As an owner and regular user of the "City" button, I have always found it to be incredibly useful and helpful when parking in a spot that requires a difficult manoeuvre," he added.
After the old Corsa 2007 was upgraded, the SE model saw a range of new features both inside and outside of the vehicle - from glossy black interior trims to the heated steering wheel.

The SE can also accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 12.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 175km per hour.
But the major upgrade that came with the SE was the City button - which is perfect for drivers who live or drive regularly on narrow roads, where parking can be challenging.
This isn't the only car feature that drivers are just becoming aware of, however.
In August, motorists realised their cars had a "hidden" button that could save their lives.
The switch, which can be located in various places in different vehicles, helps detect when other motors are nearby but unseen.
Drivers were also recently warned over a key mistake that actually makes their windscreens fog up more - and it's all down to a little-known button.
Experts urged car owners not to use the aircon's recirculation button in cold and wet weather, as it can actually do more harm than good.
And drivers are only just realising what the button with the "weird squiggles" on their dashboard really does - and it's essential for winter.

A motoring whizz posted a TikTok clip about the button, which shows a car on top of two squiggles with the word "OFF" next to it.
They said: "Don't press this button on the car indiscriminately - otherwise it is very dangerous".
