Inside private plane transformed into road-worthy limo dubbed ‘LimoJet’… it cost thousands but could be yours
The incredible creation is 'street legal' in some countries.
TAKE a look inside a luxurious private plane transformed into a road-worthy limo that could be yours for thousands.
The luxury “LimoJet” was created after engineers turned a de-winged private plane into the eight-seater limousine.
Measuring in at a whopping 42-feet-long, the LimoJet began its life as a regional aircraft manufactured by Learjet.
But after two years of research and development and at a cost of $1million, the incredible vehicle is now up for auction.
The online sale, hosted by Goldin, also includes a matching Chevrolet truck and custom six-wheel trailer to tow it with.
Bidding is to start from $100,000, but there have been no bids at the time of writing.
It boasts a number of amazing features, testament to the 40,000 man-hours it took to complete the incredible vision.
The LimoJet has huge speakers in the nacelles, a 42-inch TV and a jazzy disco floor.
Meanwhile, the rear-wheel-drive behemoth gets its power from an 6.1-liter V8 engine, that produces 400 horsepower.
From the steering wheel, the vehicle has a conventional car-like instrument cluster and an automatic transmission.
There are also four screens on the dashboard linked to individual cameras at the front and back of the vehicle.
In the back is seating for up to eight jetsetters in a setting that includes an infinity floor, a refreshment centre, and enough cup holders for every occupant.
Fitted to the four corners are 28-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Kumho tyres with bespoke fenders to protect them – while stopping power comes from hydro-boosted brakes.
It has a steel skeleton frame and retains the aluminium fuselage of a genuine Learjet.
The stunning vehicle has recently been painted in two-tone black and silver with a red pinstripe, having formerly being entirely red.
And the luxury motor weighs around five and a half tonnes.
Auctioneers Goldin note that its rear wing has been retained and “only enhances the feeling of flight”.
The fancy LimoJet is street legal in the US, having received full approval from the Department of Transportation.
But the vehicle is expressly for displays and has not been offered as an actual limo for punters in the US.
Despite this, the lot description suggests turning it “won’t be a problem” because it has “custom steering to smooth your landing at any event”.
The Goldin auction description said: “Make no mistake, this offering is the pinnacle in limousines.
“A show-stopper, a fun party ride, the perfect combination of style, comfort, and uniqueness singularly built to take the breath away of all who gaze upon it.”
The live auction is set to end on Sunday November 19.
