Wheeler Dealers host to sell classic sports car for £60,000 – days after offering £5,000 reward for stolen motor

The ultra-rare 1968 Chevrolet Camaro has only had one owner before the TV star acquired it

WHEELER DEALER star Mike Brewer is selling a classic sports car... just days after his one-off custom-designed Ford Fiesta was stolen.

Mike is selling a classic ultra-rare 1968 Chevrolet for £60,000 after offering a £5,000 reward for his Ford Fiesta Mk1 that went missing in June.

The still-missing Fiesta was specially built to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Wheeler Dealers show, as well as the end of the iconic Ford hatchback- which came off the production earlier this year.

A trailer being used to store and transport the classic motor was stolen from the car park of the hotel where the TV star was staying the night before he was going to unveil it on his show.

Mike's Chevrolet Camaro will be auctioned off this Saturday at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham and it is expected to sell for around £60,000.

The TV star spent around 1,500 hours during lockdown revamping the custom-build Camaro.

He made changes to the exhaust and stripped the engine to increase the power from 375 to 410 bhp.

He has also rebuilt the four-speed manual gearbox and made upgrades to the brakes system.

The suspension, springs, anti-roll bars and anti-tramp bars have either been added or upgraded on the 1968 Chevrolet - the TV host estimates the redesign of the car set him back £40,000.

Mike co-hosts the show with TV star Marc "Elvis" Priestly and both appeared in an appeal to the motor community to help them find their beloved car.

In an interview with , Mike offered £5,000 cash to anyone who could tell him where the stolen motor was.

He added: "I will drop that in a bin, I will send that to a PO BOX, I don’t care how it happens. It will be one of those Hollywood movie endings.

“Whatever someone wants me to do, I don’t care. I will go into a crowded pub, give someone £5,000 if someone gives me the car."

Sadly, Mike's Ford Fiesta MK1 has yet to be returned.

This comes after motor expert says the EV boom has been a 'disaster' for car brands.

Meanwhile, a campervan driver warned other owners about the 'plant-based' wiring on his vehicle.
