THE latest Tesla model was shot at with a Tommy gun in a bizarre pre-sale test revealed by company boss Elon Musk.
The eccentric billionaire unveiled the bizarre move in response to a post on X, formerly Twitter, the platform he bought in 2022.

A video posted by the Silicon Valley Tesla Owners Club showed the upcoming Cybertruck, set to retail from about £32,000, driving down a main road.
The truck's door was studded with dents, which the X user speculated might be due to it going through "bullet-proof testing".
Musk responded to the clip, seemingly confirming the test and indicating that it had been a success.
He wrote: "We emptied the entire drum magazine of a Tommy gun into the driver door Al Capone style.

"No bullets penetrated into the passenger compartment."
commenters reacted with shock and confusion to the unusual testing schedule.
One wrote: "Dude this is so crazy."

The all-electric truck, first announced in 2019, is also set to come with reinforced glass.
The model has been delayed several times and the first commercial unit only rolled off the production line in July.

Now, though, Tesla has finally provided a release date, with the first trucks set to be shipped to selected pre-order customers on November 30.
It comes after a woman was caught on camera trying to fill her Tesla up with petrol.
And a driver claimed to have been wrongly hit with 14 ULEZ charges after a number plate mix-up.
