In a posted to TikTok, the content creator showed a glimpse into the reality of nomad living.

One of her biggest struggles is keeping the cold out of her little van.

She told her followers: "It's about zero and it's gonna get down to like -2C tonight so I definitely need to do things to prepare for that.

"The first thing I do at night it put up my window covers, I made these - it's Reflectix - and then I glued this fabric on there and then there's command strips all around them.

";Then I close my curtains and this helps a little bit."

Alyssa also confessed she is forced to sleep in several layers - sometimes packing on up to three jumpers.

"I'll also put on a lot of layers, thermal pajamas and two pairs of socks," she added.

To keep her hands and feet toasty in sub-zero temperatures, the solo traveller uses one nifty item.

"I use hand-warmers, they're so nice and they stay warm all night - they're a game changer," Alyssa revealed.

She even claimed they were so effective, that they were too hot to put in her socks.

Lastly, the van-life lover said she sleeps with three blankets.

Alyssa said: "I make sure I always have really warm blankets.

"A fuzzy blanket on the top, my thick comforter, and sheet underneath is usually enough."

People flooded the comment section with praise for her grit in freezing temperatures and made their own suggestions.

"Get a weighted blanket, they will keep you nice and warm," penned one.

"Turn the window covers to the silver reflects the heat from the inside," commented another.

Someone else advised: "Got to army surplus store and get an army blanket they are amazing."

Meanwhile a fourth wrote: "Heavy wool socks, a knit cap and I always sleep in a rated sleeping bag."

Others were keen to see the explorer invest in an electric blanket.

This comes as another woman revealed she lives in a van and absolutely loves it because she can travel and save money.

Vin, who posts on TikTok under the username , said she doesn't care that people call her “homeless”, and enjoys nomadic lifestyle.

Meanwhile, one woman who had her annual leave request denied, quit her job and bought a £25,000 campervan to travel the world in.

Plus, a family of four had the same idea and ditched everything to live in a van.

The vehicle has bedrooms, a kitchen and a tap that swivels so it can also be used as a handheld shower; a full-shower with hot running water; a pull-out pantry; and an induction hob.
