I was so sick of forking out rent for a ‘disgusting shoebox flat’ that I converted my Ford Fiesta into a home for £1,800
A MAN who was sick of forking out rent for a "disgusting shoebox flat" converted his Ford Fiesta into a home for £1,800.
Yavor Dantzarov, 33, has vowed never to go back to living in four walls after experiencing what it's like to be in an overpriced property in London.
The HGV driver couldn't believe the conditions he was living in when he moved to the capital in June this year.
Paying £150 per week for the property in Kingston upon Thames, south west London, Yavor decided sleeping in the boot of his car would be a better way of life.
Having spent four days ripping out the 2001 MK405 Ford Fiesta, Yavor removed the seats - replacing them with a bed - and installed insulation and an extractor fan.
After buying his new home on wheels on Facebook for just £800, the conversion then cost him less than £1k - and said it's the best thing he ever did.

Yavor said: "No more houses for me, I’m finished with that.
"For me, having four walls around you is like a prison and you have to pay for this – no thank you.
"I found this disgusting room in Kingston upon Thames for £150 per week. It was just a shoebox.
"My friend had recently bought and converted a van and this motivated me to turn my Fiesta into a camper van."
The Bulgarian native ordered foam padding from Amazon to make his mattress, which cost him one hundred quid.
He now pulls up in parks, forests or beaches and sets up camp.
Yavor also bought a gym membership for £23 a month which means he can shower and use the toilet facilities in 300 locations up and down the country.
And for cooking, he uses a gas camping stove.
He added: “To be honest, I love it and I don’t miss anything.
“If I could go back in time, I would have done this 10 years earlier."
