I’ve driven Teslas for 3 years but I hate a change to the latest models… and it has nothing to do with charging

A CAR enthusiast has found one major flaw in the latest Tesla Model 3 Highland - and it has nothing to do with charging. 

Andy Rogerson, who goes by the name EV Man on YouTube, shared a video describing what could be the car’s single biggest problem. 

He starts his video singing praises about Tesla EVs - especially the Model 3, but soon drops what he thinks is a disastrous decision Tesla made with the Highland facelift. 

It is the indicator switches of the car, which have now become click buttons on the yolk-style steering instead of regular stalks. 

While conventional stalks do not move around since they are rooted to the steering wheel, the new turn buttons will move along with the steering wheel during corners.

Andy points out how this can be a massive issue while driving on a road in the UK.

The auto enthusiast said: “We have things called corners and roundabouts in this country - and they are everywhere. 

“The one thing you do not want moving in your car in terms of controls are the indicator switches.”

He explained while making a turn, the indicators would also rotate along the steering wheel’s circumference - since they are fixed on the left side. 

This means while making a right turn, the indicators will move to the right-hand side as the driver steers in that direction - and the buttons will be upside down. 

It could create confusion, especially if someone is not used to the design change. 

And confusion is a bad thing when driving on a busy road. 

Moreover, the buttons are way smaller than the usual indicator stalks - meaning the driver will have to be more accurate while giving a turn signal. 

Andy, disappointed with the design change, said: “You might get used to it, but that is not a great thing. 

“Getting used to something means accepting a flaw, which in this case is the new indicator buttons.”

However, Andy marked he has been driving a Tesla Model 3 for more than three years now - and said it is a “treat” to own.

He added: “This is one of the best, if not,  the best EV a car enthusiast can buy.”

He also explains how charging can be the biggest concern for a first-time EV buyer - but the supercharger network by Tesla takes the pain away. 

So if it weren't for the new indicator buttons, The Model 3 Highland would have made a flawless EV - according to the auto enthusiast.
