Major car firm unveils its LAST ever petrol sports motor… as it prepares to begin only producing EVs
A MAJOR manufacturer has unveiled its last ever petrol sports car as it will only produce EVs from now on.
The industry giant is pivoting to an all-electric future ahead of the recently delayed ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars, now slated to hit in 2035.
Jaguar has launched the final version of its F-Type model in the form of the F-Type ZP Edition.
The variant has been created by the firm's Special Vehicle team and is based on two of the brand's iconic E-type racers from the 1960s.
It has been released to commemorate "the end of [Jaguar's] internal combustion sports car lineage" with a throwback to its motorsport glory days.
The ZP will be available in Oulton Blue with a red leather interior and Crystal Grey with a navy interior.

Both liveries will feature hand-painted white roundals on the doors as a homage to their racing ancestors.
Under the bonnet, a five-litre V8 produces 567 horsepower and a 0-60mph time of just 3.5 seconds, though the speed will be limited to 186mph.
It marks a departure from the four-cylinder engine block found in the rest of the F-type range in favour of yet another return to its track heritage.
That heritage, though, is set to see a major change after the ZP's production run next year, as Jaguar transforms itself into a "modern luxury all-electric brand".

Only 150 ZP's will be made and just 10 will make it to the UK.
They will be available in both coupe and convertible bodies and cost between £134,000 and £138,000.
Rawdon Glover, managing director of Jaguar, said: "As Jaguar embarks on the boldest transformation in its history, to become a modern luxury all-electric brand from 2025, this is an unrepeatable celebration of Jaguar’s internal combustion sports car provenance.
"The F-Type has captivated sports car drivers for more than a decade, just as the E-Type did five decades before it.
"The ZP Edition is the ultimate celebration of that lineage, joining an illustrious roster of heritage-inspired collector’s editions including the 2015 Project 7 and 2020 Heritage 60 Edition."
It comes after hundreds of EVs were urgently recalled over fears that their batteries could explode.
Meanwhile, another big-name manufacturer unveiled a new SUV that they say could be used on the Moon.
