CarEdge, which has nearly 400,000 subscribers on YouTube, helps drivers with informational videos and advice on how to buy or sell a car.

It was founded in 2020 by father-son duo Ray and Zach Shefska, in a bid to create transparency in the automotive industry.

Speaking to the duo, Kimberly outlined exactly how you can get the best deal on a new car.

The motors whizz said that you should be wary of car dealerships insisting that you take a vehicle with add-ons.

Kimberly said that motorists should "challenge the dealership" on these extra costs to make huge savings.

She said: "Whenever a dealership or a sales person says that's the theft or etch charge, it's already on the car you have to take it.

"If you are at the dealership then you should ask to look at the contract and learn about it."

Kimberly says you should pay special attention to the bottom of the contract.

She continued: "In bold, at the end of the contract whether that's theft, or paint and interior protection, look for a specific clause."

It should read: "The purchase of the theft protection program is voluntary and not a requirement for the purchase, lease or financing of a covered vehicle."

Kimberly added: "Some product contracts will also have a declination box that says sign here I wish to decline this product - don't be afraid to look for that."

The motors whizz said that if you are trying to purchase a motor online you should not be deterred.

In this scenario, Kimberly advised viewers to ask the dealership to email a copy of the contract and look for that important clause.

She continued: "Challenge the deal in the office and explain that you see a declination box and decline the products you don't wish to pay for."

"If you've made it that far and you're already through to the finance office, what better time to bring it up.

"Adding another three thousand in dollars for whatever costs is insane. People should be empowered and know they have the choice."

CarEdge hosts Ray and Zach echoed Kimberly's great advice by reminding viewers that a lot of these add-ons were not mandatory.

They said that motorists should not be afraid to walk out if they don't get bang for their buck.

Ray said that dealerships will definitely "not want the deal to blow up in the finance office" and 99 times out of 100 will try figure out a deal to make it work.

Kimberly also reminded viewers that these methods may not work in every situation but it is always worth a shot to save thousands.

CarEdge gained popularity with motor whizzes frequently handing out valuable tips and advice to fellow motor enthusiasts.

In the past three years, Ray and Zach have helped secure auto deals for more than 100,000 customers and hired an additional 30 employees.
