I’m a service station expert and have spent £10k visiting 495 locations… here’s my favourite
A DELIVERY driver who has spent £10,000 visiting the UK's service stations has revealed his all time top ten.
Rich James Ross, 25, has toured all 95 of the country's motorway service stations and more than 400 A-road services and truck stops.
Rich, a delivery driver for Tesco, traced his love for service stations back to his childhood, where he spent many days in the passenger seat of his dad's truck.
He has been on the road for the past five years, where he often gets recognised.
Rich, who has racked up over 20,000 miles a year, has made a name for himself in the world of service stations.
Rich's top-five service stations are Rugby Services, M6, Stafford South Services, M6, Fleet Services, M3, Strensham Services, M5, and Lancaster, M6,
Rich, from Bristol, said: "All of my family and friends think I'm absolutely mad, but it's just something I've always loved doing.
"I came across Motorway Services Online way back in 2012 and became a big fan of the site, and when I finally had the chance to contribute, I knew had a chance to do something no one else has.
"I spend every Tuesday to Friday going county to county and visiting four to five services a day, although some days I'll spend it at one location if it stretches to both sides of the road.
"On average, it costs me £10,000 a year on fuel, accommodation, and food.

"My personal belief is that a service station must cater to everyone's needs.
Rich said that the Moto service station in Rugby was an example of what a service station needs.
He said it has something for everyone, including children's playing facilities for all weather conditions.
Rich compared himself to a trainspotter, but with a hobby that's more niche than other.
He added: "Unfortunately, a lot of people tend to give service stations a negative image online. I thought if I could visit these places and give them a positive and honest review, I'd be doing my bit for the industry.
"I have a normal day-to-day life and work as a delivery driver for Tesco - then I just zoom off on my journeys around the UK. It's great."
Meanwhile, Google reviews has revealed which service stations have risen to the top of the pack and who offers the worst pit stops for customers.
