Often-overlooked basic car check could cost drivers a huge fine – do it now and save yourself a fortune
DRIVERS have been warned about an often-overlooked basic car check that could cost them a huge fine.
During the summer months, your car's fluids are under more strain due to the higher temperatures, meaning that drivers need to check them more often to avoid hefty fines.
Car experts are urging motorists to make sure that their washer fluid is topped up, as they could be putting themselves and other road users at serious risk.
The washer fluid needs to be filled up to the correct level as it is used to keep the windscreen free from dirt and grime so that you can see the road ahead clearly.
If your windscreen is dirty or obscured, it can negatively impact your vision and other road users.
If you can’t see the road ahead, you could be fined under the Highway Code due to ‘failure to have proper control of vehicle or full view of the road and traffic ahead’.
