Driver wipes out £170k supercar on mountain pass and amazingly walks away without a scratch

THESE amazing pictures show the aftermath after a £172,000 Aston Martin supercar got between a rock and a very hard place on a twisting mountain road in Italy.

The driver reportedly spun off a hairpin bend crashing into huge boulders as it careered off the road on the Giau pass over the Dolomite mountains in Belluno Province.

Police have not named the driver - said to be a tourist - but pictures show the car has a James Bond-style 007 number plate.

Astonishingly he walked away from the spectacular shunt without a scratch.

Photos of the crashed luxury motor - which reaches 60mph (96 kph) in less than four seconds - show it with its nose and entire front end smashed in.

The custom-built 527-horsepower Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition has a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 with a top speed of 195 mph (121 kph).

Local media reported that the crash happened a staggering 2,236 metres (7,336 ft) up the peak.

Firefighters had to close the road for several hours before using a crane and special salvage gear to retrieve the supercar.

Classic British marque Aston Martin describes the limited edition motor on its website, saying: "Taking inspiration from Formula 1 and on-track performance, and transitioning this to the road in Coupe and Roadster form, Vantage F1 Edition features a unique aerodynamic body kit, new 21" wheels, and racing-inspired graphics."
