TOO CLOSE TO CALL

Watch as Porsche 911 battles electric Tesla Model X in revenge drag race – can YOU guess who comes out on top?

A VIDEO showing an insane drag race between a modified Porsche 911 and a Tesla Model X has gone viral on social media.

Few car manufacturers have a racing pedigree as good as Porsche.

It's so close between the Porsche and Tesla over the quarter mile

The iconic 911 model, with its unique rear-engine layout, is a classic with an instantly recognisable shape - whether you’re into cars or not.

As the 911 has evolved over the years, so has its powerful engines, with the full-fat Turbo model now putting out an amazing 572bhp.

But, Porsche has gone one step further, with the Turbo S edition pushing things onto a mammoth 641bhp and an eye-wateringly rapid 0-62mph time of 2.7 seconds.

So, if you’re in the market for a 911 Turbo you’d be pretty confident of seeing off most cars on the road.

But then along comes Tesla - the electric upstart that builds family cars that wouldn’t disgrace themselves at the start of an F1 race.

One of the best petrol supercars ever now has a real fight on its hands, and car mad youtuber has set-up an insane drag race between a modified 911 Turbo S putting out over 1,000bhp and a Tesla Model X Plaid with a similar amount of power.

Brooks often arranges exciting drag races through his YouTube channel, although this one has a bit of history to it.

Previously Brooks and his racing pals pitched a stock Turbo S against the Model X Plaid over a quarter-mile blast.

The Tesla took victory, but the kicker was that it did so with six people on board - there’s no doubt that the modified 911 will really have its work cut out to beat Elon’s finest this time around - even with the extra power.

To even things up this time, the racers agreed to just one driver per car with no passengers sitting in for the ride.

You won’t find any spoilers here - check out the video footage for yourself - but it’s safe to say that the straight-line speed of both cars is astonishing.

And, what’s more impressive is that both drivers were able to drive their cars home from the track and also use them as everyday cars - pretty amazing stuff!
