Hammer-wielding tenant trashed car he found in his parking space – despite not using it for 12 years
A TENANT angrily trashed a car he found left in his parking space - despite him NEVER using the bay in up to 12 years.
Gavin Glover, 58, who doesn't drive, vandalised the Volkswagen Polo when he noticed it was parked in his allocated spot.
The vehicle belonged to the boyfriend of Glover's neighbour.
Glover stormed out of his property wielding a hammer before embarking on the demolition.
He then battered the car, smashing its windscreen, heated rear window and rear passenger window. He was later arrested.
When asked about the attack, Glover, from Crewe, Cheshire, said: ''She already has her own space adjacent to mine. I do not have my own car - nevertheless, I see this as being impolite.''
Glover was ordered to pay the owner of the car Luke Davies £300 compensation at Crewe magistrates court after admitting criminal damage.
He now faces eviction from the flat.
The incident occurred on December 18 last year when Davies was visiting his partner's flat.
Miss Leanne Gallagher, prosecuting, said: “The defendant became frustrated at this and having had a large amount to drink he took a hammer and smashed three windows of the car, a Volkswagen Polo, causing extensive damage.

Representing himself, Glover said: “Firstly I would like to apologise to the owner of the car.
“I do believe it could have all been avoided. I did ask the girlfriend of the gentleman who owns the car who lives in my block of flats. I asked her several times not to let her friends and visitors park in the bay. It has been going on for quite a few years.
“But whenever I mentioned it politely, there were sniggers and jeers and unpleasant remarks.
“I am concerned about my actions. I am not denying the severity of what I have done and how it looks. It was a scary thing and it's not in my personality.”
Glover was also conditionally discharged for 12 months.
