The video was uploaded to Reddit by and has shocked viewers.

The video shows a Porsche Cayenne trying to undertake a white Nissan.

As it speeds past the Nissan on the inside, the driver instantly regrets the decision.

Unfortunately, the Porsche moves too far over and hits snow and ice on the side of the road.

The Cayenne starts to slide before smashing into the barrier and spinning back around the other way.

It ends up facing the wrong way in the middle of the motorway with massive damage.

The video was recorded by a driver's dashcam in Colorado Springs.

Undertaking means passing on another vehicle's left (or nearside) on a multi-lane carriageway or motorway. 

While undertaking on the right is legal in the US, you are not allowed to undertake on the left in the UK.

That said, there are some exceptions.

The Highway code says: "Overtake only on the right."

Rule 268 adds, ";Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake.

However, it says: "In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. "

"In these conditions, you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right.

"Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake."
