Drivers blown away by mum’s simple satnav hack which means you don’t need a stand for your phone

DRIVERS have been blown away by a mum’s simple satnav hack which means that you don’t need a stand for your phone.

Mum-of-two Shannon Doherty shared the savvy trick on TikTok - and it only requires one common household item.

She explained that anyone can easily make a hands-free stand for their phone using an elastic band and their air conditioning vent.

She said: “Everyone needs to see this life hack.

“You know when you have nowhere to put your mobile phone when you're in the car?

“Grab a rubber band and stick it through the air vent.

“Grab the other side and attach your phone. This in genius.”

Hundreds of fans rushed to the comments to give their two cents on the useful hack.

One person said: “Omg, I needed this!

“I can never figure out how to drive home from school smoothly.

Another added: “How good is this one? Could not believe it. What a smart idea!”

But others weren’t so convinced.

One fumed: “How is there nowhere to put your phone in the car?

“In yur purse, on the seat, in the cup holder, or get a phone vent holder.”

A second said: “I can never put my phone on the vents in the winter because it overheats, puts that warning on and you can’t use it.”

Another joked: “1,000 rubber bands stuck in the car vent later…”

Regardless of how good the hack is, you can be fined £200 for even touching your phone while behind the wheel in the UK.

Drivers could be hit with a £200 charge, but there's a chance you could be taken to court and fined a maximum of £1,000.

You’ll also lose your licence if you passed your driving test in the last two years.
