BRITAIN'S most dangerous roads have been revealed – where does your town rank among the most treacherous in the nation?
Motorists in Wales are statistically the most likely to get into a car accident, while roads in the South West emerged as some of the safest in the UK.
England's most dangerous roads were found to be in Blackpool and Westminster, while Scottish drivers are more likely to crash in Argyll and Bute.
The findings were revealed in a study by price comparison site to expose the most perilous areas to drive through in Britain.
The results were calculated by comparing the total number of road casualties in each local authority with each area's population to reveal the rate of deaths or serious injuries per 100,000 people in 2021.
The findings showed that the most dangerous roads in the nation are in Wales, which snatched the top two spots on the rankings.

Powys came out in first place, with 101 deaths or serious injuries per 100,000 people in 2021.
Last year, 69 people were killed or seriously injured on roads in Ceredigion, earning it the unenviable second spot on the list.
Blackpool ranks third in the study for its perilous roads, with 82 people per 100,000 in serious accidents on its roads in 2021.
In fourth place is the London borough of Westminster, which saw similarly high numbers of people involved in serious crashes last year.

A third Welsh town finds itself in the nation's top five, with Monmouthshire recording 78 accidents per 100,000 drivers.
In contrast, Bath and North-East Somerset earned the title of Britain's safest roads in mainland Britain, after just 18 people out of a population of 196,357 were in serious car accidents in 2021.
Aberdeen City and East Dunbartonshire, both in Scotland, come second and third for Britain's safest roads.
Per 100,000 people, they saw just 12 deaths or serious injuries last year.
Wales makes a notable appearance in the list again, but this time it’s for a positive reason.
The country’s second-largest city, Swansea, has one of the UK's lowest rates of serious traffic accidents, with only 15 people per 100,000 involved in them last year.

Amazingly, when including roads off the mainland, the Isles of Scilly easily has the safest roads in Britain - with NO ONE killed or seriously injured on its roads all of last year.
A Forbes Advisor spokesperson said of the findings: “The two local authorities that reported the highest proportion of deaths or serious injuries last year are both located in Wales.

“The relatively high number of people seriously injured or killed in traffic accidents in Wales could be down to the higher percentage of rural roads in the country, which typically see more casualties than roads in urban areas.
“However, all parts of the country feature in our ‘Worst 10’ tables, so it’s important that drivers take the utmost care when behind the wheel.”
