VILLAGERS are furious over a roundabout sign which sends drivers in the wrong direction.
Residents called council officials and housing developers ridiculous for the "embarrassing" blunder.
They also complained about signs sending extremely heavy lorries thundering down roads that were not designed for them, as well as the "monstrously" large signs wrecking the village's image.
One sign incorrectly directs drivers right at a staggered crossroad into Albert Village, Leicestershire, as the route for two destinations.
But they should have instead been told to carry on straight to get to Moira and Donisthorpe.
It means vehicles would would have to drive through the village before turning round and driving back again, doubling the traffic flow for residents.

Another sign tells lorry drivers to carry on straight into the village, despite a ban on the vehicles for being too heavy.
This means HGVs would be let on the roads weighing more than 40tons, which is more than five times the seven-and-a-half ton limit.
Mushroom Hall pub landlady Jackie Snape, 55, said: "It is a potential hazard. Our roads are not built for them."
Electrician Sean Lacey, 48, said it is "dismal" to have the lorries "thundering along", adding: "Something had to be done."

The new signs have been put up by house developers Taylor Wimpey to coincide with new properties being built.
They were designed for a new double roundabout, set to replace the staggered crossroad which residents said has caused several accidents.
Local Karen Warr, 55, fumed: “But all the signs are wrong. How can that happen? Maybe they should have asked locals to tell them the right way."
Husband Graham added: "Or maybe they should learn to read a map. It is ridiculous. The whole situation is laughable."
Embarrassed officials finally blackened out the incorrect markings lat week, but residents are still furious with the size of the signs.
'It's laughable'
Graham said: “They took the old signs out which were small, compact and correct and put in big new signs which are wrong.
"Albert Village didn't need any new signs. The new ones are silly."
Sean added: “It is a motorway-esque sign. It is disgraceful and not fit for a small village. It would not look out of place on a motorway.
“This sign is a blot on the landscape in our up-and-coming village.
"When I first saw it I thought ‘Oh no, this is awful and the size is not in keeping.’ I nearly pulled it off it posts and took it away. It is crazy."
A Leicestershire County Council spokesman said: “We’re aware that the signage put up by the developer is wrong so we’re meeting with their representatives to discuss what changes are required and will be looking for them to be made as soon as possible.”
