Watch a van driver cross three lanes to leave motorway at last second SMASHING into car

A VIDEO on Instagram shows the shocking moment a van makes a last-minute decision to leave the motorway.

Uploaded to the Inside Motors Instagram channel and shot using the multiple cameras on a Tesla, it shows what can happen in this dangerous situation.

The video is shot from the middle lane of a motorway and a white van can be seen on the outside lane.

The Van looks like a Ford Transit and seems to be a hired van given the stickers it has on its rear doors.

After just a couple of seconds, the van veers to the left cutting behind a car in the middle lane.

It then proceeds across the middle lane and into the inside lane without slowing down.

A motorway exit can be made out on the video and it seems the van driver is making a last-ditch attempt to turn off.

However, the van driver doesn't spot a blue Ford Focus on the inside lane.

There's no time for either driver to react and the van smashes into the front of the Focus before carrying on to the exit.

With the van's direction of travel and the speed at which it hit the Focus, the van driver is lucky they weren't spun around after the collision.

The video then cuts to one of the Tesla's rear-facing cameras giving another view of it approaching on the inside.

However, while the van driver is clearly in the wrong, not everybody is taking the side of the Ford Focus in the comments.

northernmonkeymotorsport said: "All 3 are wrong… Tesla not overtaking, should have been in left lane… Focus should have not been undertaking… Van should not have moved across 3 lanes…"

But owensimpsonuk said: "For anyone saying that the blue Ford shouldn't be undertaking, the Tesla was obviously braking suddenly. Not the blue ford's fault in the slightest."
