Ultra-rare Cadillac owned by ELVIS goes up for sale in Britain – and only 11 were made

ELVIS, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin - just some of the famous names to have owned one of these ultra-rare Cadillacs.

Built in 1976, only 11 were made that year and this one is probably unique for its exterior and interior colours.

Its full name is (deep breath) the Castillian Fleetwood Brougham Estate Wagon. It has a whopping 8.2-litre V8 engine and has only driven 20,000 miles.

It was built as a standard Fleetwood Brougham by Cadillac in the US which was the pinnacle of luxury at the time, then taken away by a company called Traditional Coachworks for upgrades.

This included everything from new paint to new leather and more luxurious equipment inside.

This particular car is being sold by DD Classics in Richmond, London for around £58,000.

Making it even rarer is that this one is an estate - as if you needed any more space in a car that was already six meters long.

The advert on Hemmings reads states the car: 'is by far and away one of the best examples in the world.

'Finished in a superbly elegant colour scheme of Innsbruck Blue over Ivory leather interior with Navy Mouton Carpeting throughout, Station Wagons don’t come any plusher or any more exclusive than this.

'The car comes with its original build sheet, showing it’s pre-conversion specification and price of $12,533 (or around £60,000 in 1976) with options including but not limited to Leather Upholstery, 6-Way Power Passenger Front Seat (Driver’s power seat came standard), Tilt and Telescope Steering Wheel, Cruise Control, Twilight Sentinel, Turbine Vane Wheel Trims and numerous other options.'

You were able to order a Castillian directly from your local Cadillac dealer but the price was high and only a total of 47 cars were ever made.

To buy a Castillian in 1976 you needed around $30,000, or around $154,000 (£130,000) in today's money.
