I’ve been threatened by bailiffs for 18 MONTHS over parking fine as I was picking up my wife & baby – but I already paid
A DAD told how he was threatened by bailiffs over a parking fine he paid 18 MONTHS ago.
Herlas Cosmin, 38, paid £3.90 for 90 minutes of parking at University Hospital Coventry - where he went to pick up his wife and their newborn baby.
But weeks later, he received a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for the sum of £100 and was accused of failing to pay.
Herlas told the firm it was wrong and sent over a copy of his bank statement proving he paid up.
Months on, Herlas received another letter from Car Parking Partnership insisting he paid up - which he appealed again.
"I thought that was the end of it," Herlas said.

"But then, two weeks ago, I got sent a letter from the bailiffs asking for almost double the first amount.
"It has made me feel like I need to keep all the doors shut and keep my car away from the house because I don't want them to clamp it or anything.
"I feel intimidated and threatened."
Car Parking Partnership say he did not park in the correct area - despite "highly visible signage".

The firm cancelled the fine as a gesture of goodwill.
"I've been trying to resolve this for about 18 months now," Herlas added.
Herlas added: "The reason I went to the hospital was to pick up our second child.
"It should have been a happy experience, but all of this has happened. It's a date I definitely can't forget."
A Car Parking Partnership spokesperson said: "Car Parking Partnership has partnered with University Hospital Coventry for over three years to significantly improve how it’s car parks operate.
"During this time there has been investment in modern consumer-facing systems which has enhanced accessibility and made parking at the hospital easier and safer for staff, patients and visitors.
"The system is designed to ensure the efficiency and smooth operation of the hospital by ensuring that patients, visitors and staff park in their allocated car parks.
"BMI Healthcare also operates within the healthcare campus and the motorist received a parking charge notice after parking in the car park reserved for its patients and visitors.
"There is clear and highly-visible signage throughout advising that the car park is for BMI Healthcare patients and visitors only and that they should enter their vehicle registration into a terminal at reception to receive free parking.
"Despite the motorist not parking in the correct area, we have cancelled the charge as a gesture of goodwill."
