Vandal neighbour divides opinion after damaging elderly couple’s car for blocking path
A furious neighbour has divided opinion after graffitiing the car bonnet of an elderly couple who's motor was blocking a footpath.
The senior couple, both in their 70s, had visited their daughter's home on a Saturday evening to help with babysitting their grandchildren.
The following morning, as they were about to leave, they noticed the word "footpath" had been scrawled in permanent marker across the bonnet of their white car.
Their furious daughter claims that her parents had only parked their car on her driveway so that her mother - who suffers with mobility issues - would be able to make her way indoors more easily, MailOnline reports.
Taking on Facebook, she vented her anger in her local community group.
She said: "My dad parked in our driveway to help my mother get closer access to the house given her abilities.

"In doing so, they were blocking the footpath but walkers could still walk around the back of the car.
"I totally understand the concerns of blocking the footpath but to write with permanent marker all over their front bonnet is disgusting erratic behaviour and I'm absolutely sickened to think a person such as this lives nearby."
The mum said her parents had intended to move the car, but the three young children required constant supervision.
She also felt the situation was unfair because people could still walk around her parents' car.

She continued: "This is vandalism and is illegal!! I feel so sorry for this person in every way as they would have had so much hatred at the thought of walking around a car to go home and get a marker, come back and vandalise a car."
The woman said the matter could have been handled in another way.
She said: "Just WOW!!! Next time be a big enough person to ring the doorbell and advise [us] directly so we can fix this in an amicable way, and you can walk the straight path that you so desire. Or if you wish to remain anonymous write it on PAPER!"
She asked the social media group for help in finding out the person responsible.
But some local residents refused the woman any pity and said her parents should have known better.
One person said: "Unpopular opinion, but I don't have much sympathy available for this. Don't block the footpath. Easy as."
Another wrote: "My elderly grandmother, who was disabled and couldn't simply 'walk around the back' used to encounter this problem all the time."
Someone else said: "Vandalism is illegal, but so is parking across the footpath. If the mother has mobility issues, then they should have had more awareness themselves."

The mum did get some support however, with one person saying: "Wow I can't believe someone did this what an a**ehole!!!! Your poor parents I hope they are ok and not too upset."
Another said: "What a bitter sad person who did this. I pity their miserable existence! Karma will give them a serve don't worry."
