THE Kia EV6 has been crowned What Car? Car of the Year for 2022.
The all electric SUV beat out all petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles to claim the annual award show's top spot.
Prices in the UK start at £40,945 for the electric plug-in family car.
The most popular model of the vehicle is the Kia EV6 RWD GT-line and is the one that was showcased as the best new car in 2022.
The EV6 boasts an official range of 328 miles, according to lab tests that are quoted in the cars sales brochures.
When it comes to electric cars, it's handy to have a quick recharge time.
The Kia EV6 can get from 10 to 80 percent charged in just 18 minutes.
It has some speed under its belt, reaching 62mph in 7.3 seconds.
This is only the second time that a zero emissions vehicle has won the prestigious car award.
What Car? editor Steve Huntingford said: “Once again, Kia has set a new benchmark for an electric vehicle.
“The EV6 is a terrific all-rounder that answers electric car buyers’ questions around range and charging times brilliantly.
“Coming hot on the heels of its victory with the e-Niro in 2019, this Car of the Year win cements Kia’s position alongside Tesla as one of the most exciting electric car makers on the planet.”
The win is Kia's second win in four years after the electric e-Niro won back in 2019.
Kia boss Paul Philpott said: “This is just the beginning of things to come from Kia on our rapid journey to electrification.”
