WHAT A TOLL

I’ve been fined for driving on a bridge 10 years after I last drove across it – I think thieves have cloned my plates

A MAN has been left stunned after he received a fine for driving over a bridge ten years after the last time he drove across it.

The driver was fined on December 1 for crossing the Humber Bridge in Hull without paying.

He believes that he has been targeted by thieves who have stolen his license plates and claims there are slight differences between his vehicle and the cloned one.

While on the fine he appears driving across the bridge, he insists he has not been near the bridge in over a decade.

He said: "On December 1, I received a fine for not paying the toll on the Humber Bridge. This was very odd as I haven't driven over the Humber Bridge in about 10 years.

"The next day I received another fine for the bridge and a fine for using the bus lanes in Hull. Again, I haven't been to Hull for two years.

"The picture of the car was just like my Hyundai i10 and the number plate was the same, save for the subtle difference in the position of the bolts fixing the plate.

"It has become apparent that someone is driving a clone of my car and is probably up to no good and possibly not taxed or insured."
