Princess Diana’s convertible Audi goes up for auction for just £35,000 – after it failed to sell twice
A CONVERTIBLE Audi owned by Prince Diana is set to go under the hammer for £35,000.
The dark green cabriolet was loaned to the Princess of Wales for personal use as a family car in 1994.
It was used to ferry Princes William and Harry during the summer that year, with the model dubbed the most photographed car of 1994
She then returned it to Dovercourt Audi in north London in July, with around 4,000 miles on the odometer.
The stylish convertible has had four owners since then, including political commentator Iain Campbell Dale.
The 1994 automatic is expected to get plenty of interest at the auction, with bids expected to reach £35,000 and £40,000.
The famous Audi went up for sale on May 19, 2018 - the same day as Prince Harry's wedding - but didn't sell.
It also failed to find a new home in 2017, when it was priced between £60,000 to £80,000.
It will go on sale on March 27 to 29.
Simon Langsdale, a specialist at Classic Car Auctions, said: "This is a stunning car, one that is remembered by many of us of a certain age at the height of the Princess' popularity."
A spokesperson for the auction house said: "For Audi, this was a huge public relations opportunity, the most photographed Princess driving one of their cars, they couldn't have wished for more.
