BUYING a new car can be a challenge for many Brits, especially when weighing up the various makes and models on the market.
But a new report has revealed the auto manufacturers that are most trusted to help make it easier for drivers interested in a new motor.
A recent study by has found that Mercedes-Benz is the most trusted car brand out with motorists across the country.
The German manufacturer topped 20 other automakers in the inaugural Car Buyer Trust Index, which was calculated using key factors such as integrity, transparency, genuineness, social conscience and reliability.
The luxury brand was closely followed by Audi, Ford, Toyota and Volvo in the standings.
Interestingly, electric automaker Tesla finished 12th in the trustworthy survey, indicating the rising support from drivers for environmentally-friendly transport.
On the other end of the scale, drivers have little faith when buying Fiat, Peugeot and Renault motors, according to the poll.
The study also revealed that Mercedes Benz was the most trusted car brand with men, while Audi and Ford lead the way for women.
