Called the Vision S, the motor is a one-off electric sedan that showcases the tech company’s range of technology and in-car entertainment.

The autonomous car is packed with a staggering 33 different sensors to help monitor the driver and objects outside the car.

One of the most impressive features is the internal sensors that can detect occupants of the car and allow them to control its entertainment systems with their hands.

It even boasts a dashboard-spanning screen and a 360-degree sound system that produces immersive audio via speakers built into each seat.

On the outside, the four-door is a luxury sedan and has drawn comparisons to some of Porsche’s latest models.

According to Sony, the concept car is able to go from 0 to 60mph in 4.8 seconds and onto a top speed of 149mph thanks to its two electric motors which power each axle.

While the car is unlikely to ever be mass produced, the Vision S was released to show off the company’s wide range of tech.

Kenichiro Yoshida, chief executive of Sony, said: “This prototype embodies our contribution to the future of mobility.

“We believe that the evolution of mobility will also redefine cars as a new entertainment space.

“We are excited at about the road ahead.”
