‘Enchanted Manor’ with 11 beds and Cinderella carriage could be yours – but it will set you back £1m
Current owners spent six months transforming Isle of Wight property into luxury, romantic bolthole
THIS extraordinary 11-bed hotel could provide a fairytale ending for those who can meet its £1million price tag.
The attractive manor house, dating back to 1838, is nestled in the pretty seaside resort of Niton Undercliff on the Isle of Wight and enjoys spectacular views of the coast.
Previously known as Windcliffe Manor, it was snapped up at auction for £750,000 by current owners Ric and Maggie Hilton who then spent six months lovingly transforming it into a luxury romantic bolthole.
Re-christened the Enchanted Manor it now boasts ten luxury bedroom suites with four-poster beds, a one-bedroomed self-contained separate owner’s apartment, a dining room/billiard room, commercial kitchen and a conservatory.
Ric and Maggie’s whimsical interior design was inspired by the work of English fantasy artist and sculptor Josephine Wall.
The hotel also has an additional guest room which is currently used as an intimate venue for weddings.
The romantic theme also spills into the outside spaces with impressive fairytale gardens, Chinese pergolas, cosy booths, a summer house and a Cinderella-style carriage sculpture.
Loved-up couples wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life can also wind down in a covered hot tub or take advantage of treatments in a separate room used as a spa room.
Enchanted Manor gives prospective owners an opportunity to take advantage of the idyllic setting for their venture and enjoys excellent Trip Advisor reviews.
A detached dwelling, which comes with its own BBQ hut and private woodland area, is available via separate negotiations.
Owner Ric said: “We wanted to do something new together, and after buying a rundown restaurant and turning into a special Victorian tearoom/restaurant and then building a luxury stone thatched B&B we had no intention at that stage of buying anything else.
“However, friends kept urging us to come and look at Windcliffe Manor as it was called then, and although it was very run down and unloved, as soon as we walked through the door we both knew it was where we should be.
“We looked at each other and said how enchanting it was and that was the beginning of the creation of our Enchanted Manor.
“At the time, we had no idea how we would be able to buy it, but because of what we had done in the past with businesses our bank manager had faith in us and lent us the money.
