Lidl has launched a range of massive ‘gravy yachts’ which hold up to five litres of the beloved sauce – but fans need to move quickly to avoid missing the boat.

The super-sized vessels will ensure nobody has to ration their gravy at this year's Christmas dinner.

Lidl is only making 100 two litre ‘yachts’ available and just five of the ‘superyachts' which hold nearly nine pints.

Customers can get hold of them by visiting  before midnight on Friday 29th November to enter the giveaway.

The enormous gravy boats are included in a bundle that also features a 'Captain Gravy' cap, because, as the supermarket giant puts it, "loving gravy isn’t just a lifestyle, it’s an identity."

These exclusive bundles also come with a coupon for a free jar of Deluxe Gravy Granules and what is described as a 'stylish' nautical neckerchief.

However, the supermarket is urging fans to act fast to avoid missing out on this unique Christmas Day centrepiece, with the deadline fast approaching tomorrow.

The demand for the super-sized gravy yachts was inspired by Lidl's sales last year, which peaked at one unit of gravy sold every second on December 22nd, leading up to Christmas Day.

This Christmas Lidl have impressed with their festive ad, which tells a heartwarming tale of a little girl who, after helping an elderly woman, makes a wish to share her Lidl woolly hat with a boy she noticed earlier, who looked cold.

The ad spreads Lidl's message of sharing the magic this Christmas, and also highlights the return of Lidl Toy Banks.

This year Lidl Toy Banks are aiming to distribute more than 100,000 toys donated by customers to needy children.

The supermarket chain is also launching its very own cola-themed Christmas truck for the first time.

The truck, set to rival Coca-Cola's own HGV, will first stop off at Dundee on November 14, and make its final stop in Southampton on December 1.

It will be giving out 2,000 boxes containing a host of Lidl's "middle aisle" fan-favourite products.

How to save money on Christmas shopping

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.

Limit the amount of presents - buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.

Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you're not having to buy multiple presents.

Plan ahead - if you've got the stamina and budget, it's worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.

Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you're not forking out more than you should though.

Buy in Boxing Day sales - some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.

Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.

Shop via outlet stores - you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.

They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
