Lidl’s Christmas menu includes a yard-long pig in blanket and an espresso martini roulade
THERE may be nearly four months to go until Christmas but The Sun can already reveal some of Lidl's new festive menu.
Mouth-watering treats you'll be able to feast on in December include a yard-long pig in blanket and an espresso martini roulade.
Sadly, Lidl hasn't released the prices yet or the nutritional value for its new range.
It also hasn't told us when the items will be up for grabs either, so we recommend checking in store nearer the time.
But we've picked out some of our favourite bits to watch out for when it does get closer to the big day.
Here's what you need to know.
Yard-long pig in blanket
Just as the name tells you, the 420g treat measures a yard and includes a sausage, seasoned with herbs and spices and wrapped in bacon.
It's an upgrade on last year's foot-long versions by Aldi and Asda, although the latter's was heavier at 500g.
This cost £5 when it launched in October, while Aldi sold two 200g sausages for £2.99.
Festive feast in blanket
If that's not enough, Lidl is also rolling out a feast in blanket which includes typical Christmas trimmings such as turkey, stuffing and Brussel sprouts.
It also comes with cranberry sauce, and the whole thing is wrapped in bacon.
It weighs a whopping 1.2kg, so it should be enough for the whole family to munch on.
We couldn't find anything similar being sold at the other major supermarkets - at least not yet.
Although, if you're craving something a little different, Wetherspoons last year rolled out a pigs in blanket pizza.
While Lidl has previously done a Christmas dinner pizza including turkey, ham, brie and cranberry.
Espresso martini roulade
There's also a mouth-watering espresso martini roulade included in the range, and it might make the perfect centrepiece during the festive season.
It comes packed with hand-rolled meringue, which is filled with coffee and vodka-flavoured cream and Belgian dark chocolate sauce.
The 550g dessert is then also topped with a dark chocolate drizzle and dusted with icing sugar.
Last year, Morrisons launched espresso martini cheesecakes which cost £1 for two.
Chocolate cottage with salted caramel
If you have a big sweet tooth, you'll also want to check out Lidl's second showstopper.
Designed in the shape of a cottage, the treat is filled with chocolate mousse and a salted caramel sauce.
To add a bit of theatre, the cottage even comes with a chocolate pouring sauce - simply drizzle the sauce through the chimney and watch as the house melts.
It follows Aldi's Christmas range last year, which included a melting snowflake for £5.99.

Asda’s Christmas menu this year includes winter spiced gin and elf ice cream.
Tesco shoppers will also be spoilt for choice as treats from its festive menu include a new pigs in blanket stuffing wreath.
